  • Kimberly or Kimberley is both a feminine and masculine given name, although the name is becoming more common among women than men. The name originated from a South African place name, which was derived from an English title, which was in turn derived from an English place name.

  • Kowloon is a station on the Tung Chung Line and the Airport Express of Hong Kong's MTR. Only about 10,000 passengers use this station daily due to its inconvenient location west of the heart of Kowloon, making it one of the least used stations in the MTR system.

The Kimberly Hotel

The Kimberly Hotel

This is the hotel where we stayed in Kowloon. It is very centrally located and convenient to the MTR (subway system). I would rate this as a 3-star (at best) and would recommend it for budget travellers. The rooms, while very clean, were extremely small. The public areas and hallways were dated. There were no public telephones available (must walk a few blocks to pay phones at end of street) but there is a business centre with internet access. No safety deposit boxes in standard rooms but could use facilities at front desk. Viewed suites with kitchenettes that were much nicer and very affordable. ( of rooms didn't turn out!) :(
